Horse Heaven Hills Wine Growers
earth, wind & wine
The Horse Heaven Hills Wine Growers decided it would
be good to mark the boundaries of the AVA by erecting
signs at various portals of entry. This led to a letter
writing project to the many vendors who do business
with the wineries and vineyards on Horse Heaven
asking for contributions to build the signs. There was
much positive response and especially from Chad
Werkhoven of Valley Truck Repair in Sunnyside, who as
a contributor, volunteered to make the signs. We owe a
huge debt of gratitude to Chad, Valley Truck and all who
contributed to these signs. A special thanks also to the
Burkhart family; Keith Burkhart and his sister Susan
Cox who so graciously allowed us to place our sign at
their property. Four signs have been made and this is
the first to be put in place. We want to dedicate this
sign to all our members, contributors and to all whose
vision and hard work made this possible.
We are proud of the signs, proud of our industry and
first and foremost - proud of the Horse Heaven Hills - our
home.
When traveling south of Prosser, check out the HHH
sign at Highway 221 and Bert James Road.
Below is a photo of our membership dedication of the
first of four signs on September 11, 2008
We will be posting additional photos and info as the
other three signs go up.

A huge thank you and gratitude to our wonderful sign contributors:
